Australiens et Néo-Zélandais se sont disputé en Allemagne le titre mondial par équipe, avec comme arbitres les sauveteurs sud-africains et européens. Un spectacle somptueux. Les ondulations capricieuses de la plage de Warnemünde ont, au fi nal, sacré les Aussies et leurs deux étoiles : Naomi Flood et Shannon Eckstein.<br />Nous consacrons une large place à l’événement, marqué par la formidable troisième place de l’Italie et la sixième position de la France sur l’échiquier planétaire. Ce qui donne aux Bleus le droit de participer l’an prochain aux Jeux mondiaux de Taipei. Nous avons rencontré à cette occasion Elena Prelle (Italie) et Kathy Whear (Royaume Uni), deux des reines de cette Rescue 2008. Nous n’oublierons pas le championnat interclubs qui suivit en mer Baltique et le stupéfi ant parcours du club de Colmar.<br />De Saint-Sébastien à Rerik en passant par Sète, Seignosse, Contis, Ouessant, Quiberon ou Siouville, le paddleboard a également rythmé les sessions estivales. Nous vous proposons de ramer avec ces marathoniens des mers, en ayant une pensée pour Ludovic Pinet, grand espoir de la discipline, privé cette année de traversées sur blessure.<br />Nous vous invitons enfi n à embarquer pour l’Ile de la Réunion où l’élite du waveski a fait escale et pour Sacramento, en Californie , théâtre des championnats du monde de Va’a au coeur de l’été.
